RECORD NUMBER OF PRO TEAMS

The Pro Team licenses for Visma Ski Classics has been completed. Season X have a record number of 35 Pro Teams signed up. The 10th anniversary of the Visma Ski Classics season starts November 29th with the prologue weekend in Livigno, Italy. On November 29 is the Pro Team Tempo Tempo followed by the Individual Prologue on Sunday December 1st.

After each season the top 15 Pro Teams in the Pro Team competition automatically receive a Pro Team license for the following season. Pro Teams with lower rank and new teams need to send in an application to be evaluated in order to get their Pro Team License. For Season X a total of 35 Pro Team Licenses has been handed out, a new record!

Each Pro Team are registered in a specific country, and they may register minimum 4 and maximum 10 athletes, with gender and nationality of their choice, all Pro Team need to have athletes of both genders. Norway has 11 registered Pro Teams while Sweden is second with its six teams. Central European  Pro Teams are growing in numbers, and this season there are in total 14 Pro Teams from that region. Czech Republic has four teams, France and Germany three, Italy two and Austria and Switzerland one each.

France is the nation that has increased its attendance the most from last year. Additionally, there are three Pro Teams from Finland and one Pro Team from Russia, Russian Winter. There are also more youth athletes, under the age of 27, than ever before and the number of female Pro Skiers is growing as well. Interestingly, there are some exotic flavours in the mix as the first Pro Skiers from Spain, USA and Belgium step onto the stage in Season X.
