World Champions of Falun trust in Fischer
The World Championships in Falun (SWE) came to an end on Sunday with another one of the nine triple victories for the Fischer Race Family.

The sensational result was confirmed after the last final straight at the WCH: all the World Champions who clinched victory in the individual events of the three different sports were successful with Fischer!

All in all, 29 gold, 32 silver and 26 bronze medals or 87 of the 117 medals awarded went to athletes in the Fischer Racing Team.

An impressive 74% of all medal winners in Falun placed their trust in Fischer skis and 45% had the complete ski and boot system from Fischer.

As the most successful ski and boot brand by far at the World Championships, the family-owned company has once again highlighted its position as the clear number one in in Nordic racing.

A flood of medals for yellow and black
The finishing straight in the final 50K race was characteristic, with the best seven athletes having gone into the race with the yellow and black racing equipment from Upper Austria.

There was one athlete using the complete ski and boot system from Fischer in particular who clearly left his mark on the battles for titles: Petter Northug** (NOR). Thanks to his outstanding sprint abilities, the exceptional Norwegian athlete clinched a remarkable four World Championship titles in impressive style.

His team colleagues Therese Johaug** (NOR), who won three gold medals, and Marit Bjørgen** (NOR), who added two gold and one silver medal to her extensive collection were likewise successful.

Charlotte Kalla* (SWE) turned out to be another keen medal hunter, making the home crowds go crazy by winning one gold and one silver plus two bronze medals.

Fischer eagles rule the skies
Fischer eagles from Norway and Germany shared the air supremacy in ski jumping and the Nordic combined. Twelve of the best fourteen jumpers flew from the large hill with the yellow flight equipment from Fischer.

It was Severin Freund* (GER) who was at the very top, after silver on the normal hill and gold in the mixed team event. Carina Vogt* (GER) likewise flew to the World Championship title in her two events. Ski jumper Rune Velta* (NOR) and Johannes Rydzek** (GER) in the Nordic combined also made an extremely positive impact on Fischer's medals' tally, each winning two golds and silver and bronze.

Outstanding WCH result
"The World Championships here in Falun were really great and the atmosphere was fantastic. The successes for our team were outstanding! We equipped all the World Champions in the individual events in all three sports – something like this has never happened before," says a more than satisfied Nordic Racing Director Gerhard Urain, summing up the outcome.

He adds: "We presented new skis and boots to the athletes only shortly before the major event and this equipment was used on a large scale here in Falun with resounding success. For us as the equipment sponsoring company this is always an additional crowning of the sensational results."

The results have also been seen in a very positive light at the company's headquarters in Ried.

"In addition to our wonderful successes we should also note that the attendance at the events was incredibly good. The official figure is 227,000 people in the stadium and along the course – the feeling is that there were even more. This shows the major role that cross country skiing has here as a sport for everyone. There was intensive coverage and reporting throughout the various media, especially in Scandinavia. We hope as a result that this will also have a positive effect on the growth of Nordic sports in general," says Thomas Drindl, Head of the Nordic Division at Fischer Sports.
