Norwegian Ragnar Horn is a new board member of Wsportsmedia and Visma Ski Classics. Horn also join as shareholder in Wsportsmedia.
Horn has extensive experience from both business and long distance skiing.
– I am humble about the assignments but eager to apply my various business experiences and passion for cross country skiing towards the continued development of Wsportsmedia and Visma Ski Classics, says Horn.
Like so many Norwegian children, Ragnar Horn started skiing and competing in cross country skiing at an early age. He moved to the United States as a student and also competed in the American University Series. However, the studies were the main focus in the United States.
In addition to working life, skiing became an increasing part of Horn’s life since his three children grew up. In 1999 he skied Vasaloppet for the first time. In the last ten years, it has become an even bigger part of his life.
– I love to compete and perform in long distance skiing races, says Horn and continues;
– I have gotten better over the years. Since I have been a co-sponsor of Team Ragde Eiendom, I have been able to train and spend some time with the team. It has made me raise my level step by step.
In both Vasaloppet and Marcialonga, Horn has been in the top ten in his age group in recent years.
– I have followed the development of Visma Ski Classics and have been fascinated by how the Pro tour has gotten better year by year. I am now happy to be able to share my experiences in business and from my passion for cross-country skiing, says Horn.
Ragnar Horn is the chairman of Taconic, a private investment company with active investments and holdings in Norwegian real estate and international shipping. Prior to founding Taconic, he was the chairman and principal shareholder of RS Platou.

Horn serves on several public and private corporate boards in Norway. He is currently a board member of Eiendomsspar and Victoria Eiendom, two leading Scandinavian real estate companies.
He is also a member of Harvard University’s Global Advisory Council. In the non-profit arena he is a member of the Global Leadership Council of Right to Play, an international NGO that uses play and sport to reach and educate more than 2 million children a week in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
